16th ANNUAL JURIED EXHIBITION & COMPETITION, AUGUST 8-29

Fine artists throughout Louisiana and the Southern region are invited to submit entries of their original artwork to be judged for inclusion in the Natchitoches Art Guild's 16th Annual Juried Competition and Exhibition. The Exhibition is one of the most beautiful arrays of two-dimensional and three-dimensional fine art. Interested artists should contact the Natchitoches Art Guild & Gallery.

CANE RIVER ZYDECO FESTIVAL, SEPTEMBER 4-5

The Magnolia -State Peace Officer's Association will host the 10th annual Cane River Zydeco Festival in downtown Natchitoches. Festivities on Friday begin at 6 p.m. include a Zydeco Dance Contest and entertainment by the Same Ol’ 2-step Zydeco Band and D.J. “LA” Jones; cost is $3.00. Events on Saturday begin at 4 p.m. with a Poker Run through Natchitoches Parish, followed by evening entertainment by D.C. & The Zydeco Country Boyz and Leon Chavis & Zydeco Flames; cost is $7.00. GOLDONNA DRAKE SALT WORKS FESTIVAL, SEPTEMBER 5

Visit northeast Natchitoches Parish for a day of heritage and fun in Goldonna, Louisiana. Activities include arts and crafts booths, food, a parade and live entertainment. There will be a children's area that will include a dunking booth, face painting, a jupiter jump and cake walk. Admission is FREE. NATCHITOCHES MEAT PIE FESTIVAL, SEPTEMBER 11-12

Natchitoches has been famous long before the stars arrived because it's home to the famous Natchitoches' meat pie, popular since the 1700's. Join us for a parade, live entertainment, vendors, children activities and hot meat pies.

In conjunction with the Festival, the 10th Annual River Run will be held on the riverbank. The ride is hosted by the Independent Riders of Natchitoches and is open to all riders.

MARTHAVILLE GOOD OLE DAYS, SEPTEMBER 18-19

Marthaville, Louisiana, about 25 miles west of Natchitoches, will celebrate its history and culture with a two day festival including live entertainment, a food, food vendors, crafts and children’s activities. MEAT PIE TRI, SEPTEMBER 27

Meat Pie Tri begins with a very spectator friendly 1/2 mile swim in Cane River Lake. Then out of T1 up a short steep incline onto Front Street for a 20 mile out and back ride over some light rolling terrain. Rack your bike and head out of T2 up the steps of the Riverbank for a 5K under the beautiful canopy of oaks along the lake. The Meat Pie Tri begins at 7 a.m. in Downtown Natchitoches.
