The Gardens of the American Rose Center is hosting its Annual Mother’s Day Buffet on Sunday, May 10. Admission is $25 for adults and $13 for children, three to eight years old. There is no charge for children 2 and younger. Admission includes cost of dining and garden admission. Gates open at 11:00 a.m. The first seating is at 11:15 a.m. The second seating is at 1:00 p.m. After dining, take a stroll through the beautiful gardens, featuring more than 20,000 roses in bloom.
Classic Foods is catering the event and will feature carved smoked brisket, honey glazed ham, boneless charbroiled chicken, broccoli rice casserole, buttered corn, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh vegetable medley sauté, assorted rolls, salad bar, pasta salad, fresh fruit, peach cobbler and other assorted desserts.

Gardens of the American Rose Center
It is the home of the American Rose Society, created in 1974 through the contributions of rose lovers around the world. The 118-acre park contains more than 60 individual gardens with neach bed and planting specially designed to demonstrate ways roses can be grown in the average home garden. Regular garden admission is $5 for adults and $4 for seniors. Tour carts are available on weekends for a nominal fee.

Jazz on the River is sponsored by the Arna Bontemps African American Museum, co-sponsored by the City of Alexandria and partly funded by GAEDA. The concert is free and open to the public. A limited number of tables with seating for ten will be available for reservation at $200.00 to help offset the cost of the concert. For more information, contact the Museum at 318-473-4692.
