Kent Plantation House is again hosting “African American History Through the Eyes of Our Youth”, an art competition for children from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Any form of art pertaining to African American History is acceptable. The exhibit is separated into grade level categories and judged by local artists.
Deadline for entries is 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27th. All art pieces should be delivered to the Kent House Office in the Visitors Center.
Entries will be judged and prizes awarded at the Opening Reception on Friday, January 29th at 6:00 p.m. The reception, free and open to the public, will be held in the all-purpose room of the Kent House Visitors Center located at the rear of the complex. Refreshments will be served.
The entries will be on exhibit at Kent Plantation House through the month of February, Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. There is no admission charge to view the exhibit.
